Anatomy of the pouch
Ingredients of natural origin. No artificial flavouring, no sweeteners, no colourings: for the lemon, vanilla and orange flavours, natural flavourings only.
The queen's food, cold freeze-dried: 3,000 mg of royal jelly per glass, concentrated into 1,000 mg of freeze-dried royal jelly, 3 times a pharmacy ampoule. Standardised to 6% 10-HDA, the benchmark quality marker.
A small cherry naturally very rich in vitamin C: 63% of the nutrient reference values per glass. Vitamin C contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue and to the normal function of the immune system. Its light tang pairs beautifully with honey.
It gives the glass its rounded taste and golden colour, and softens the natural acidity of royal jelly. It is the only sweetening ingredient in the formula.
A natural carrier recommended by our laboratory: it keeps the powder free-flowing, with no lumps or caking.Bonus: one glass is high in fibre.
The secret of freeze-drying
Non-freeze-dried royal jelly is 60 to 70% water. We remove it cold, without heating, to keep only what matters. That's freeze-drying.
Harvested by hand from the queen cells. Full of water, fragile, sour on the tongue, it must be kept cold and spoils quickly.
3,000 mg
The royal jelly is frozen, then placed under vacuum. The ice turns straight into vapour, without ever heating. The active compounds stay intact.
under vacuum, cold
Stable, measured to the milligram. All the active compounds of 3,000 mg of non-freeze-dried royal jelly fit into 1,000 mg of freeze-dried royal jelly: that's the dose in your glass.
1,000 mg
3 times more concentrated. 1,000 mg of freeze-dried royal jelly equals 3,000 mg of non-freeze-dried royal jelly, and the 10-HDA rises from 1.4–2% to 6%.
No fridge needed. Freeze-dried royal jelly keeps at room temperature, with no cold chain.
The right dose, every morning. One scoop, an exact dose, no guesswork.
Finally delicious. Freeze-dried, it blends with honey and acerola. No more acidity stinging your tongue.

The real price of royal jelly
On the market, royal jelly is almost always counted as non-freeze-dried royal jelly, which is 60 to 70% water. Our 1,000 mg is freeze-dried royal jelly: minus the water, 3 times more royal jelly. To compare honestly, we bring everything back to the same base.

Api-culture
In a colony of 50,000 bees, only one gets it for life: the queen. Api will show you around.
Young worker bees, aged 5 to 15 days, make royal jelly with glands located in their heads. A white, creamy, slightly tangy secretion.
Every larva gets a taste for its first three days. Then the future workers move on to honey and pollen. Only one larva carries on: the future queen.
Fed exclusively on royal jelly, she grows twice as large, lays up to 2,000 eggs a day and lives up to 5 years. A worker bee lives around 6 weeks in summer.
The beekeeper places young larvae in cups. 72 hours later, they collect the royal jelly cell by cell, with a spatula. A hive yields only a few hundred grams per season. That's what makes it so precious.
Cold-dried straight after harvest to keep its active compounds: it takes 3,000 mg of non-freeze-dried royal jelly to obtain 1,000 mg of freeze-dried royal jelly. In France, our partner laboratory tests every batch, blends it with honey, acerola and soluble fibre, then packs it in a pouch with its measuring scoop.
Average composition of freeze-dried royal jelly, once the water is removed.
A real hive of nutrients!
Straight from the hive, royal jelly is 60 to 70% water. Freeze-drying removes that water cold: it takes 3,000 mg of non-freeze-dried royal jelly to obtain 1,000 mg of freeze-dried royal jelly, 3 times more concentrated.
Order before 2 pm and your pouch ships today. First glass in 2 to 4 days.

Manifesto
And we gave royal jelly back what had been taken from it: pleasure.
A box of magnesium, another of vitamin C, a third of royal jelly capsules. All opened, none finished. We bought them full of good intentions, then forgot them. Because swallowing a capsule at 7 am is nobody's idea of a moment to look forward to.
Meanwhile, coffee did the job. One, then two, then three. A kick, a crash, and round we went again.
In a hive, only one bee receives royal jelly her whole life: the queen. She lives up to 5 years while the workers live a few weeks. Beekeepers have known this treasure for generations, and science has studied it since 1959 and the discovery of its unique fatty acid, 10-HDA.
The problem was never royal jelly. It's the way we take it: as an anonymous capsule with an invisible dose, or neat, by the spoon, with a sour taste that stings the tongue and that we take from the tip of the spoon, grimacing.
We set ourselves 3 rules. A dose that counts: 3,000 mg of royal jelly a day, concentrated into 1,000 mg of freeze-dried royal jelly, around 12 hand-harvested queen cells. A guaranteed 10-HDA content of 6%, the level of premium royal jellies. And total transparency about origin.
It took months of formulation to find the right balance. Honey powder rounds off the acidity of royal jelly. Acerola brings its vitamin C and a fruity touch. The result dissolves in 10 seconds in a glass of water and tastes like a spoonful of warm honey. Then we created lemon, vanilla and orange versions, with natural flavourings, so the ritual never gets old.
98% of the royal jelly consumed in France is imported, often without it being stated. We prefer to say it: our royal jelly and our honey are of non-EU origin, like most of the world's production. What makes the difference is the testing. Every batch is tested in France (10-HDA, antibiotics, pesticides, heavy metals, honey authenticity), then blended and packed in pouches in a French laboratory, following the HACCP method. When you open your box, you know exactly what's inside and where it comes from.
Apicure is a pun, and we own it: api as in bee in Latin, api which sounds just like “happy”, and a cure you finally want to stick with. Our mascot is called Api, and she has one mission: to make the first thing you do each day a pleasure.
The morning ritual that makes you Api.
Frequently asked questions
10-HDA (10-hydroxy-2-decenoic acid) is a fatty acid found nowhere else in nature but royal jelly. It is its signature active compound, and the marker used to judge its quality: the higher the content, the richer the royal jelly.
Non-freeze-dried royal jelly generally contains 1.4 to 2%. Once freeze-dried, it becomes more concentrated. Ours is guaranteed at 6%, i.e. 60 mg of 10-HDA in every dose. Its antibacterial properties have been studied since 1959.
4 flavours, one formula. Honey, the original: soft and rounded, like a spoonful of honey melted into warm water. Lemon : sharp and refreshing. Vanilla : indulgent and comforting. Orange : sunny and fruity.
The natural acidity of royal jelly is rounded off by honey in all 4 versions. The lemon, vanilla and orange flavours use natural flavourings only. You can change flavour with every delivery from your customer account.
No refined sugar, no syrup, no sweeteners. The only source of sweetness is honey powder, a hive ingredient in its own right, present in a small amount: a full 7 g dose contains less honey than a teaspoon. As honey naturally contains sugars, we prefer to be transparent rather than claim “no added sugars”.
Because royal jelly is one of the rarest products of the hive. It is harvested by hand, cell by cell, 72 hours after the larvae are placed. A hive produces only a few hundred grams per season.
Every Apicure glass contains 3,000 mg of royal jelly (1,000 mg freeze-dried), around 12 queen cells, standardised to 6% 10-HDA and tested batch by batch. That's 3 times the dose of a standard pharmacy ampoule. On subscription, it comes to €1 a day with the 3-pouch course: the price of a coffee.
Per kilo, that's €333 in non-freeze-dried royal jelly equivalent, versus €2,000 to €2,900 for French non-freeze-dried royal jelly. The details are in the section The real price.
Our royal jelly and our honey are of non-EU origin, like most of the royal jelly sold in France. The royal jelly is freeze-dried at source, straight after harvest, to preserve its active compounds. Everything then arrives at our partner laboratory in France, which tests every batch (10-HDA content, antibiotic residues, pesticides, heavy metals, honey authenticity). It then blends the formula and packs it in pouches following the HACCP method and European health standards. A non-compliant batch never ships.
Apicure is a ritual, not a quick fix. We recommend a course of at least 4 to 6 weeks, every morning, which means 2 pouches. That's why the 2-pouch course is our recommended plan. You can then carry on with your subscription, or do a course at every change of season and pause the subscription in between.
You have 60 days after receiving your first order to change your mind. If you don't like the taste, or the course isn't for you: write to us with your order number and the reason for your request, and we'll guide you through the return and refund.
Conditions: once per customer (same name, address or payment method), on the first order only, including the first delivery of a subscription. The first pouch may be opened; the other pouches must be returned sealed, in their original condition. Return costs are at your expense. Refund within 14 days of receiving the return, by the same payment method.
Choose the length of your course: 1 pouch every 30 days (€34.90), 2 pouches every 60 days (€64.90, i.e. €32.45 per pouch) or 3 pouches every 90 days (€89.90, i.e. €29.97 per pouch). Free delivery. You are charged with each shipment, never in advance, and we email you 3 days before each dispatch.
From your customer account, you can at any time postpone the next shipment, pause, change the number of pouches or update your address.
In one click: log in to your customer account, open “My subscription” and click “Cancel”. No minimum term, no fees, no phone call to make. If you cancel before the next shipment date, nothing will be charged.
Any order placed before 2 pm on a working day ships the same day from our laboratory in France. Then allow 2 to 4 working days in mainland France. Delivery is free, for one-off purchases and subscriptions alike.
Warm yes, hot no. Above 40 °C, royal jelly loses some of its qualities. Lukewarm or cold water, warm plant-based milk, yoghurt or smoothie: they all work. Just avoid a freshly brewed tea or coffee.
Apicure contains royal jelly and honey. It is not recommended for people allergic to bee products (honey, royal jelly, propolis, pollen, bee stings) or with asthma, during pregnancy and breastfeeding, or for children under 6. If on anticoagulant treatment, treatment for high blood pressure or in case of hormone-dependent cancer, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
Reseal the zip firmly after each use and keep the pouch in a dry place, away from heat and light. No fridge needed: freeze-drying makes royal jelly stable. Once opened, use within 30 days, i.e. during your course.
